The Tokyo Metropolitan History and Culture Foundation aims to promote the arts and culture of Tokyo, as well as to pass on and develop the history and culture of the city, thereby contributing to the creation of a creative and affluent community.

Use of Donations

Thank you for your support and donations.
We received donations of 83,268,669 yen in fiscal 2024. In accordance with the purpose of the donation, we carefully used it for projects that support the promotion, succession, and development of art and culture at art museums, museums, theaters, etc.
The Foundation would like to express our sincere gratitude for your kind support.

[Main use]

  • Purchase of collection items from Tokyo Metropolitan Edo-Tokyo Museum (including "Indigo Thread Armor Domaru Armor" and "Indigo Satin Plum Blossom Pattern Uchikake").
  • Independent project at Tokyo Photographic Art Museum
  • Operating expenses for the Tokyo Music Competition, performing arts creation projects, and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Tokyo Bunka Kaikan
  • Discount service for high school students and younger at performances at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre (including performances such as "Equivalent Love Triangle" and "Ikiume: Lafcadio Hearn"), social coexistence projects ("Tokyo's Field Expression Club"), etc.

For over half a century, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan has been Japan's leading "Hall of Music," presenting operas, ballets, concerts, and more from Japan and abroad.
The hall also aims to be a place that nurtures the potential of the next generation by hosting a variety of human resource development projects, including the Tokyo Music Competition.

Request for Your Support

We are asking for support for the projects and exhibitions organized by the Foundation from those who agree with the purpose of the Foundation's art and cultural activities and from companies that have an understanding of social contribution.
You can receive special benefits such as an exhibition invitation for one year from the date of confirmation of payment of the donation.
Not eligible for tax benefits.

Request for Donations

Donations to projects and exhibitions sponsored by the Foundation are widely requested from those who agree with the purpose of the Foundation's arts and culture activities and from companies that have an understanding of social contribution.
Depending on your donation, you will receive tax benefits.
There are two ways to apply: bank transfer and online donation (for individuals only).
* Corporate donations can be made by bank transfer.

Donation by bequest

We accept donations by bequest. You can use your valuable assets for the further promotion of art and culture in Tokyo and for the succession and development of the history and culture of Edo Tokyo.
