Message from the President

The Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture plays a role in the cultural administration of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and works to further promote art and culture in Tokyo and to pass on the history and culture of Edo-Tokyo by promoting art and culture and improving its infrastructure.

Specifically, through various cultural facilities such as the Edo-Tokyo Museum, Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Garden Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo Arts and Space Hongo, Tokyo Arts and Space Residency, Tokyo Shibuya Koendori Gallery, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo Art Theater, Tokyo Performing Arts Support Center (Suitengu Pit), and Civic Creative Base Tokyo [CCBT], and through the activities of Arts Council Tokyo, the organization preserves and utilizes works and materials, provides viewing opportunities, promotes music and performing arts, fosters human resource development and education, and develops and transmits the foundation of art and culture.

Based on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's measures to realize a city full of cultural attractions, we will continue to work with not only Tokyo residents but also many artists, cultural figures and companies to make the Foundation's projects and facilities available to as many people as possible.
