Comments from Intern Graduates

Using my experience as an intern, I was hired by a museum. When I was a student, I had a vague goal of working at an art museum. However, I didn't know exactly what was going on inside the museum, such as the classroom study and short practical training in the curatorial qualification class. As an intern, I was able to understand the specific work of a museum by working from planning to holding exhibitions and managing works continuously. I was able to know the whole picture of the museum by doing various jobs. I am very grateful that my experience and knowledge were recognized and I was offered a job at the museum.

As a foreign student, I was able to learn a lot through my internship at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, including the opinions and impressions of classical music audiences in Japan, the possibilities of classical music workshops, how to write business emails, and basic etiquette for working adults.
Of these, what was particularly important to me was the "on-site experience." Although I say "on-site experience," I learned a lot not only about "what" to do as a planner and manager, but also about "why" to do it, including the flow from dress rehearsal to dismantling, how to interact with the audience, how to place pamphlets, and the importance of information sharing. This experience is valuable not only for concert halls, but also for theaters and other venues where various "performances" are held. Thanks to my involvement in various performances at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, I am able to take an active role in a variety of settings.
